Hello!

My name is Olivia Linder, and I am an independent author. My novel “Saving Summer” releases on June 15th, 2024!

I was born in 1996 in Santa Clara, California and lived in San Jose until just before my nineteenth birthday, when I moved to Vancouver, Washington with my mom. I lived there until 2018 when I graduated from Clark College.

From 2018-2021, I attended the University of Delaware and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English Education. I ended up loving Delaware so much that I stuck around and still live there today.

I decided to become an author at a very young age. I started writing “books” as early as kindergarten. My second grade teacher, Mrs. Sarringhaus, had a “writing station” in the back of her classroom that ultimately determined my destiny. Not only did she make the writing process so fun and hype us all up with “author parties” where we would read our books to the class after “publishing” them (she’d even bind them for us!) but the support she showed for my creativity gave me the confidence that this was what I was meant to do. There were so many adults throughout my childhood who encouraged my writing career, and I am so grateful for each and every one of them. I was even able to have a book featured at my school’s Young Author’s Faire in fourth grade. No matter what full-time “traditional” careers I thought of pursuing until finally landing on teaching, being an author was the only thing I was consistently one hundred percent sure I wanted to be.

When I was fourteen years old, I was diagnosed with autism. With the love and support of my friends and family, I have learned over the years to embrace this part of myself because it is, indeed, a big part of what makes me me. I wouldn’t be where I am today without those in my life who have shown genuine love for the person I am.

Besides reading and writing, I love spending time with my loved ones, listening to music, traveling, enjoying nature and the outdoors, and of course logging hundreds of hours of Sims gameplay ;)

• My unironic favorite movie of all time is Good Burger

• This is my favorite band of all time and I’m SO mad that I discovered them after they stopped making music (not that I could’ve gone to their shows across the country when I was eight)
